The Greater Modesto Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce it has been awarded a $408,000 multiple-employer contract from the California Employment Training Panel (ETP).
ETP-funded training helps employers bridge the skill gap for new and existing workers and address industry challenges and growth opportunities. The Chamber’s MEC provides growth opportunities, increased wages, and career advancement for the manufacturing industry in Modesto and Stanislaus County. This is the first time the Chamber has applied for the ETP program.
The Chamber is partnering with manufacturing companies to improve worker skills in areas like maintenance mechanics, IT, and robotics. With the complexity of new technology and automation, extensive training is needed. The training will focus on maintenance, operations, logistics, business acumen, and quality control. These programs aim to equip participants with the skills needed for manufacturing jobs, fostering economic growth and sustainability in our region.
The Employment Training Panel (ETP) is a California state agency that helps employers strengthen their competitive edge by partially offsetting job skills training costs. In a multiple-employer contract, the Chamber administers the funds on behalf of participating employers, allowing several entities to collaborate on training programs.
